Descripción

Oriental Beauty is a heavily oxidized Taiwanese oolong with a unique production requirement: the leaves must be bitten by tiny green leafhoppers (Jacobiasca formosana). This insect interaction triggers a chemical defense in the plant that produces a distinctive honey-muscatel sweetness. The finished tea features colorful leaves of white, green, red, and brown, and brews a champagne-amber cup with notes of honey, ripe peach, and rose.

Guía de Elaboración

Temperatura 90°C
Tiempo de Infusión 60s
Ratio de Agua 50ml/g
Infusiones 5x

Recipiente recomendado: Porcelain gaiwan or glass teapot

Oriental Beauty's heavy oxidation (60-70%) means it bridges oolong and black tea in brewing. Western-style brewing works well: 90°C, 1 minute, standard ratio. Gongfu style also works with shorter steeps. A glass teapot showcases the beautiful multi-colored leaves and champagne-gold liquor.
