Description

Wuyi Rock Tea is a category of oolongs grown in the rocky terrain of the Wuyi Mountains UNESCO World Heritage Site in Fujian. The mineral-rich soil between cliff faces creates a unique terroir called 'yan yun' (rock rhyme). Beyond Da Hong Pao, notable rock teas include Rou Gui (cinnamon aroma), Shui Xian (narcissus), and Shui Jin Gui (golden turtle). All are charcoal-roasted to enhance their mineral depth.

Guide de brassage

Température 100°C
Temps d'infusion 20s
Ratio eau 15ml/g
Infusions 8x

Contenant recommandé: Yixing clay teapot (dedicated to rock tea) or porcelain gaiwan

All Wuyi rock teas (Rou Gui, Shui Xian, Shui Jin Gui) share the same brewing approach as Da Hong Pao. Boiling water, quick rinse, short steeps. Rou Gui benefits from slightly shorter steeps (15s initial) while Shui Xian can handle 25-30s to draw out its orchid fragrance.
