Chasen (Tea Whisk)

The chasen is a handcrafted bamboo whisk essential for preparing matcha. Carved from a single piece of bamboo, it has between 48 and 120 fine tines depending on the style. Kazuho (regular) chasen with 80 tines are standard for everyday use, while higher tine counts produce finer, creamier froth. The chasen is a consumable tool that wears with use and should be replaced when tines begin to break.
