Description

Golden Monkey is a premium Fujian black tea named for its hooked, golden-tipped leaves that resemble monkey paws. Produced in small quantities with careful hand-processing, it delivers a smooth, non-astringent cup with notes of cocoa, roasted chestnut, and a subtle stone-fruit sweetness. The high ratio of golden buds to darker leaves indicates careful selection of only the finest pickings.

Brewing Guide

Temperature 90°C
Steep Time 120s
Water Ratio 75ml/g
Infusions 4x

Recommended vessel: Porcelain gaiwan or glass teapot

Golden Monkey's abundant golden buds are delicate despite being a black tea. 90°C and moderate steeping bring out the cocoa and chestnut notes without bitterness. The leaves open into beautiful full sprigs and reward gongfu-style brewing across multiple rounds.
