Description

Dian Hong Jin Zhen is the highest grade of Yunnan black tea, crafted exclusively from plump spring buds covered in fine golden hairs. Each bud is carefully hand-selected, withered, rolled, and fully oxidized to produce slender, needle-like shapes gleaming with gold. The all-bud composition delivers an exceptionally smooth, sweet infusion with intense honey, dried longan, and cocoa notes, zero astringency, and a velvety mouthfeel. The golden liquor is remarkably clear with a lasting sweet potato and caramel finish.

Brewing Guide

Temperature 85°C
Steep Time 90s
Water Ratio 75ml/g
Infusions 5x

Recommended vessel: Porcelain gaiwan

As a pure-bud tea, Golden Needle requires gentler handling than other black teas. 85°C water and 90-second steeps preserve the honey-sweet, zero-astringency character. Gongfu style with a gaiwan is ideal. The golden buds produce a remarkably clear, luminous golden liquor across 5 infusions.
