Kenya is the world's largest tea exporter and Africa's top producer. Its CTC (crush, tear, curl) black teas, grown at high elevations in the Rift Valley highlands, are known for their bright, brisk character with strong body. Kenyan teas form the backbone of many commercial tea blends worldwide and are increasingly producing specialty orthodox teas.
