Tentang

Anhua County in Hunan Province is the heartland of Chinese dark tea (hei cha), particularly the iconic Fu Zhuan brick tea. The region's warm, humid climate supports the growth of Eurotium cristatum ('golden flowers'), a beneficial fungus that develops naturally during Fu Zhuan fermentation and is valued for its health-promoting properties. Anhua dark teas have been traded along the ancient Tea Horse Road for centuries, serving as an essential source of vitamins for nomadic peoples in Tibet, Mongolia, and Central Asia. The massive Qian Liang Cha cylinders, weighing over 36 kilograms each, remain one of the most visually striking tea formats in the world.
