Acerca de

Uva on the eastern slopes of Sri Lanka's central highlands is unique among Ceylon tea regions for its quality peak during July to September, the opposite season from western-facing Dimbula and Nuwara Eliya. The dry Cachan wind that blows through the Uva valley during this period triggers a biochemical stress response in the tea plants, producing leaves with an intensely aromatic, exotic character. Uva teas are prized for their distinctive pungent, almost mentholated flavor with a dry, clean finish that is unmistakable to experienced tasters. This weather-dependent character makes Uva one of the most terroir-expressive tea regions in the world.
