Beschreibung
Tea catechins support liver function through antioxidant protection against oxidative stress, reduction of lipid accumulation in liver cells, and anti-inflammatory effects. Green tea consumption is associated with lower liver enzyme levels (ALT, AST) and reduced risk of fatty liver disease. EGCG helps protect liver cells from alcohol- and drug-induced damage. However, very high-dose green tea extract supplements (>800mg EGCG/day) have been linked to rare liver injury — the protective effect is observed with normal tea drinking, not mega-dose supplementation.
