Description
A non-gallated catechin that is highly water-soluble and quickly absorbed in the body. EGC contributes a mild, slightly sweet astringency to tea. While less potent as an antioxidant than its gallated cousin EGCG, EGC has demonstrated unique immune-supporting properties. It is one of the first catechins extracted during brewing, making even quick steeps rich in EGC.
